A Question for Other Bloggers

Dear Blogger,
I host this blog and LOVE it, except...I can't seem to get people to leave comments. Comments are my favorite part of blogging, other than forcing my opinions and thoughts on other people!

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
Swizz (a low-comment blogger)

I tend to just read blogs and don't post too much (I did find this blog through your brother's blog where I've read for many months but don't comment). But I've enjoyed reading your blog. Please keep up the good work.

Matt, THANK YOU!! I needed that! Sometimes it feels like I'm talking into a vacuum, or to a brick wall, which I'm told I'm capable of at times. :)

I've bookmarked this blog and intend to check it from time to time. Your being in the Atlanta area is part of what piques my interest. I'm in SC and I occasionally get to Atlanta to attend meetings of the Atlanta Astronomy Club. I'll try to keep a closer eye on what you post here and give you some feedback.

This is still a new blog and it may take a while to build up a following. Hang in there.

backwoods conservative...you made my day! To think that someone bookmarked my blog is just amazing!

If you, Matt, or any of the readers want to suggest topics ever...please feel free to let me know what's on your mind. I'm open to suggestions!

Well, I think the thing that really gets comments going is when you can say something that people really get worked up about. A couple of subjects that might generate some good comment numbers, especially if you can get other bloggers to link to you:

1) Obama is the antichrist and we should really have a countrywide exorcism ceremony to try and remove him from office.

2) Obama is the messiah, and isn't it time to get rid of that whole pesky 1st Amendment thing and just recognize the Cult of Obama as the national religion? We'd all be a lot happier.

3) Rush Limbaugh shoots his mouth off too much and should really think once in a while before he opens his piehole (check with your brother before trying this one).

4) Really, on balance, was that whole Confederacy thing REALLY that big a deal? Now, I'm not saying they were right, but I'm not saying they were all wrong, either.

I suspect that were you to blog about any one of those subject and made an effort for the word to get around, you would find that you had PLENTY of comments.

And you might discover the origin of the phrase, "Be careful of what you wish for, you may get it."

:-)
