And I'm not even 40, yet...

Went to visit my eye doc this past week. Hadn't gone in about 4 years so I thought I'd better go before leaving town permanently. I've always had 20/20 vision (except for a small stint in 2nd grade, but I deny those glasses ever existed!) so the need to go to the doc every year seems smaller for me than, say, for someone who wears contacts or glasses.

I need reading glasses.

I'm not even 40 (not for a few years, yet!) and I need reading glasses.

What's next?

I've been wearing glasses since I was 15. That's 35 years now. I need them to see far off; I take them off to read. I've never minded.

I remember seeing Red Skelton on TV and someone came up to the stage and handed him a note. He reached into his pocket for his glasses and said, "I don't really need glasses, but I've reached the age where curiosity is greater than vanity."

I haven't had my vision checked since Lasik about 4 years ago. Thanks for the reminder!
