AAHHHH Ack! I am horrible at ideas. That's why I always hire a web layout person to do mine. I do know, though, that blogger has a LOT more options now than they used to.
I'd say, look around and when you find a blog you love, find out who designed it and work with them!
I hired for mine. If you want her email, let me know. She's a friend of mine. :)
There are some free templates out there to use that are way cute.
