Thankful Thursday

As we come upon Memorial Day, a day when we remember those who have died in our nation's service, let us be thankful for those who are willing to put their lives on the line so we can enjoy freedom here in the United States of America!

I am especially thankful for:  my Dad, who served during World War II and is no longer with us.

Thankful Thursday

I joined a Bible Study several weeks ago.  We are currently going through the life of David, looking at how he (and we) are anointed for a specific purpose.

I am thankful for:
1. The study...it is helping me to refocus my life in a way I've wanted to for a long time but haven't had the umph to do.
2. God's anointing...that He gives us a purpose and then prepares us for that purpose.
3. Forgiveness.  We all sin.  Daily.  And to know that I can, and SHOULD, let go of my past sins because they are already forgiven truly amazes me.  I don't need to "Moan and groan" about things I did in my past...I need to focus on preparation for my purpose as well as living fully today.
4. Redemption.

And I'm thankful for YOU.  

That you keep coming back, and you keep supporting me.  

And hopefully, in a small way, what you read here keeps supporting you.

I'm Back! And Thankful Thursday...

Yes, I am back!  Not that anyone will read this since I've been gone and now probably have a following in the range of a big goose egg.  But it feels good to be back!  And my camera will arrive in another day with The Rev (JMonster and I flew back while he is driving...) and then I will post to my heart's content about our trip.

And now for Thankful Thursday:
Truly I am thankful that the stomach virus The Rev had last night was just that.  A stomach virus.  Not a heart attack.  Not appendicitis.  Just a plain ol' stomach bug of the puke your guts out all night variety.  I'm also thankful he is well enough after resting all day today to make the drive back tomorrow.

Seriously!?!  Another week gone?  Time is moving so fast.  So, so fast...

This week I am thankful for:
~ Our upcoming visit to Atlanta!
~ Connections.  I'm feeling more and more connected right now.
~ Grace.  I am not perfect, nor will I ever be perfect.  Yet I am loved and blessed daily.

My list is short this week, but each one is so deep and meaningful to me...

Could it REALLY be Thursday again!?! I would swear (you shouldn't swear, Swizz, it's considered impolite and could be construed as a sin in most circles) that I just did my Thursday post. Didn't I?

Things I am thankful for this week:
1. Bluebonnets! They are everywhere right now.
2. Being chosen. God chose me. Little old me. And I'm glad He did.
3. Friends. My friends have been wonderful support this week, both new and old friends.
4. The Rev. He's been traveling a lot lately, and yet he does an amazing job of supporting me when he is here.
5. Modern travel. After seeing the train earlier this week, it reminded me that in times past people had to take days, weeks, and even months to travel distances we travel in minutes and hours. For that I am extremely grateful!

Today I am thankful for:

1. My family.
2. The cold front blowing away some of the pollen.
3. The beautiful wildflowers growing everywhere here in Texas.
4. The smell of pot roast coming from the slow cooker.
5. The Bible Study I joined yesterday. Love it!
6. ZOODLES! (More about this tomorrow!)

WHAT ARE YOU THANKFUL FOR?

Thankful Thursday on Maunday Thursday...

My life is filled with blessings to be thankful for,
but this week I choose to focus on Resurrection Week.

Starting with Palm Sunday, when Jesus entered Jerusalem triumphantly on a donkey while people cheered and waved palm branches.

Followed by Jesus rousting the heathens from the temples, ticking off the rabbis, and praying and preaching to the masses.

To Maunday Thursday, when Jesus knew he would be betrayed and yet he ate supper with his disciples, washed their feet, and reminded them to remember him when they broke bread and drank wine.

Good Friday, which wasn't good at all.

And Easter Sunday, when the tomb was found open and Jesus had risen.

All for my sin.

For this I am thankful.

Thankful Thursday

Let's all stop, take a collective breath, and remember some of the blessings we've been given. The reasons we are thankful...

I am thankful for:
1. My country. A place where I may not agree with the government, but voicing my disagreement does not end in my being imprisoned or killed. A place where Google doesn't have to censor!
2. My family's health. I can honestly say that despite a cold, virus, or flu here and there...we are healthy.
3. The Rev's business. He is working hard growing it and nurturing the relationships he's created. I'm very proud of him.
4. My computer. I think I said this one recently. But it really does connect me outside of this house...
5. My mom. She is letting us live in her new house BEFORE she does. Very giving! (Hi Mom! You reading my blog?)
6. JMonster, of course. ;o)
7. Wildflowers!
8. Chocolate brownies...ooey, gooey ones warm out of the oven. Mmmmm...I can smell them now.
9. Pajamas. I love comfy pj's.
10. Prayer.

This week is a wonderful reminder of God's blessings and grace in my life. As we move ever so quickly toward JMonster's 4th birthday, I am grateful for:

JMonster and his sweet, tender heart.

The Rev and his steadiness. And his strong work ethic.

A warm, safe place to live...with family who love me.

The promise of renewal that Heaven brings.

Spring! Warmth is in the air...let the blooming begin!

All of you. This outlet helps keep me grounded and sane. Thank you.

Things I am thankful for today:
1. The Rev is coming home after a 9 day business trip. Wahoo!

2. JMonster is a good kid. No, a great kid. And he's so easy (most of the time).

3. I finally have a plan for schooling next year. It's in the early stages, but it's there. And I'm working on it.

4. We're starting to plan the house we will build. Talking to architects and builders. Looking at different materials. Kinda scary, but EXCITING!

5. I have a family that loves me...no. matter. what. And I love them.
