Lenten promises

Lent has typically been a time when I do the same thing I did last year and the year before and the year before that because that is what I ALWAYS do...give up chocolate.

Because, everybody SHOULD love chocolate. For real.

This year my twin sister has challenged me to a Lenten challenge to beat all Lenten sacrifices.

She wants me to give up reading.

Reading!?!

yep.

Reading.

I will be allowed to read The Bible.

And I will be allowed to read our Bible Study Materials.

Oh, and keep up with my blog.

But that is it.

:o(
This may or may not be what I looked like when she challenged me earlier today.

Jesus made a HUGE sacrifice for us.

Huge.

This may not be is not on the same level.

But it is big.

For me!

I'm also debating giving up sweets so I don't end up roly poly with all of the stress of not reading.

Are you making a change for Lent?

If so, what is it?

Legend of the Guardians

I vaguely remember seeing a commercial for this film when it came out.  Vaguely.

However, I never heard anyone mention it.

No good reviews.

No bad reviews.

nada

What a FABULOUS movie!

We watched this at a friends house this evening.

Their in home movie theater is the real deal!

Yummy popcorn popped in their own theater style popcorn popper...

Junior mints.

You can't watch a movie without Junior Mints!

Soda.

And the cushiest theater seats known to man.

Seriously.

But the best part was the movie!  A top-rate animated film in my opinion.

A brief synopsis from IMDB:

When a young owl is abducted by an evil Owl army, he must escape with newfound friends to seek out the legendary Guardians to stop the menace.

Okay, so the synopsis didn't do it justice and I'm too tired to write one on my own.  Sorry!

Go watch this movie!  You will be glad you did.

(And no, I was not paid to say this.  No endorsement money exchanged hands.  I wish!)

Last Adult Standing

We made it home.

My sister was sick.

Her daughter was sick.

The Rev was out of town.

The Doc was working non-stop.

Why!?! did we come home?

Still busy.

Maybe really post...tomorrow?

My sister started antibiotics yesterday so keep your fingers crossed!

Her flu had progressed to a sinus infection.

Ick.

Update on last post!

We did NOT get to leave when we thought.

My sister and her daughter have been sick for about a week!

We are REALLY going home tomorrow.

And staying away from them.

Maybe for days.

And taking our vitamins.

(Which JMonster calls vivamins...too cute!)

Maybe later this week I'll get to start posting again regularly!

Until then, blessings!

Out of Touch

The last two weeks we have been in Dallas.  We originally came here to celebrate a late Christmas with The Rev's family, but ended up staying much longer than anticipated.

First it snowed.  Not like the East Coast, but we did get between 1 and 2 inches!  Enough to make it pretty and to have fun.
I will try and post a picture or two later...I'm on an ancient computer!

Then my twin sister and Flower got the flu.  Did you know that you are contagious for 5-7 days after you start showing symptoms?
Yep, it's true!

So we've been staying away from home since we didn't get flu shots.

Plus, who know if it is the flu or just a virus!?!

We FINALLY get to go home tomorrow.

(Cheering!)

The Rev leaves on Sunday for a trip to Atlanta.

:o(

We have had a wonderful visit with Grammy and Pops,
but are definitely ready to be home.

(heels clicking together...
"There's no place like home!  There's no place like home!")
